Age Accelerating Habits? Check Them Out

No matter how hard you’re trying, you might be finding it hard to reduce the appearance of those fine lines and wrinkles.   And even if you’re spending much on anti-aging beauty products, you’re still having a hard time to reduce the appearance of those signs of aging. Perhaps, it is the time to check some habits that add years on your face.

Age-Accelerating Habits You Should Quit Now

If you’re aging faster than your real age is and you don’t like what you’re seeing in the mirror, you should reflect and evaluate your daily habits or routine.

Multi-tasking

Too much of a hectic life and schedule is taxing your body and leads to higher levels of stress. If you’re one of those that have an overload of schedule that does not seem to be shorter,   you might also be into multi-tasking, thinking it’s good for productivity.

However, it proves the opposite. This practice is not good for your health because it just makes you feel more stressed for the hopes of getting more things done at the same time.

Prolonged exposure to chronic stress also leads to higher levels of free radicals in the body. These free radicals damage the cells, leading to accelerated aging.

To avoid stress and age gracefully, you should not focus on multi-tasking but on doing a task at a time. You should only be moving to another one once you have accomplished the task on hand.

Sitting long hours in the day

It is one of the worst habits of modern people and a kind of sedentary lifestyle that is linked to the development of health issues, including cancer, kidney disease and cardiovascular disease. Prevent it from happening by trying to stand up and walking from time to time no matter how busy you are in working in front of your computer.

Not sleeping enough

If you’re into the habit of getting only five hours or less of sleep every night, you might have to consider changing that bad habit. Did you know that lack of sleep does not only lead to dark eye bags but also to stress?

What to do is to get an optimal sleep each night, ideally seven hours. You should try to getting to bed earlier if you’re already experiencing sleep deprivation signs. Some of these include mental sluggishness and lack of energy.

Excessive sugar intake

Sugar does not just lead to weight gain but also adds years to your face.

Did you know that sugar molecules are binding to protein fibers in the process called glycation?

This process leads to skin damage and aging that include dark circles under the eyes, loss of radiance, puffiness, loss of skin tone and appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Glycation also leads to increased pore size and loss of facial contour. If you want to slow down aging, learn how to pass on desert and treats. Doing so, you will also be able to keep that healthy skin glow.

If you want to prevent adding years on your face and have a longer lifespan, take some time to reflect on your lifestyle. See if you’re committing any of the bad habits mentioned above and start quitting them for stress reduction and longer lifespan today!
